Always Buying Scrap is your certified battery recycling company for lead-acid batteries. We work on small margins to give you the best price possible for any volume of material. With over 35 years of recycling industry experience, we pride ourselves on building outstanding customer relationships and providing excellent customer service.
More than just a service company, we are a crucial link between businesses and smelters.
To date, we have kept tens of millions of pounds of batteries out of dumpsters and landfills by providing convenient pickup and drop-off services across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We have expanded our footprint across the Carolinas with our extensive fleet of trucks and trailers thanks to the acquisition of Junkbat LLC in 2022.
We are committed to providing convenient, eco-friendly, and hassle-free
battery pickup and drop-off services at top value.
Our scalability and extensive network of EPA-certified refineries enable us to provide you with the best pricing. We work on low margins to pass along the value directly to you.
Have material but don’t want to haul? We offer lead-acid battery pickup services to most of NC and parts of SC and VA. All our trucks are equipped with tools to make each and every transaction faster and more efficient. From battery handling tools to electric pallet jacks, scales, and safety materials, we’ve got you covered.
Nothing is more valuable than your time. We will be there when we say we will. Period.
Always Buying Scrap, Inc. is hazmat certified to handle lead-acid materials and adhere to all DOT regulations for proper transport. In addition to liability insurance, we are also enrolled in CHEMTREC for emergency roadside cleanup situations, should they arise.
All of our drivers are certified to handle and haul class 8 hazmat material. Obtaining this endorsement on your license includes hazmat training, taking an additional knowledge test, and passing a medical exam. In addition, our drivers are routinely drug tested and in compliance with DOT hours of service regulations.
Our trucks prominently display a hazmat placard according to DOT guidelines. In addition to the standard safety materials required to operate a commercial vehicle, our trucks are equipped with baking soda, a neutralizer for sulfuric acid, gloves, safety goggles, and an eye wash kit.
If you see one of our trucks, rest assure that the batteries inside are being transported responsibly.
Chemtrec provides critical services in handling physical, environmental, or property damage resulting from an unforeseen chemical spill on or off the road. Our relationship provides us with 24/7 access to emergency service specialists via their dedicated Emergency Call Center.
Don’t risk using an uncertified battery recycler: fines can be excessive and may ultimately fall back on the person selling the material.
We offer our customers the peace of mind that they are not liable for any incidents which may occur after their batteries have left their facility.
We maintain comprehensive business, auto, and pollution insurance with a large umbrella. You may also request to be named as additional insured.
It is important to know where your recycled batteries are going so that any damages to persons or property that result from improper handling and disposal of batteries do not fall back on you. We’ve got you covered.
We visit every smelter we sell to in order to see how they operate and ensure that they are EPA-compliant and follow good safety practices.
Disposal documentation containing our EPA Number is available to you upon request.
