Always Buying Scrap now has an ideal prop for Halloween - even if it arrived a little early.  They took possession of a metal casket this week from a funeral home that apparently had mis-ordered the item, and it couldn't be returned. After it arrived and was unloaded, staff peered inside, just in case. Fortunately, it was empty.

New metal caskets can retail for more than a thousand dollars, and weigh more than 200 pounds, empty.  Apparently they can be quite comfortable inside, too.

The most common reason people choose metal caskets is because they last longer in the ground and afford more protection. Some can be securely locked.  As for this one, it has been sold.  The buyer is turning it into a very unique coffee table.
